Ls/vtec on 92 teg???

I have a 1992 ls integra, and about to buy a 98 Gsr head. Is it worth it to make my car Ls/vtec with that head, and getting it installed for $700 by a friend. Just want to know what you guys thing? Or what do guys recommend?

No, it's not worth it. It's not going to be reliable and you're going to run into many problems down the road. Just swap in a B18C1 instead.

if its built right than it can be reliable but if you just slap the gsr head on the ls block and try taking it up to 8200rpm its going to go boom...if your new to this than ls/vtec is not for you...save you money and a headache and get a gsr...or just boost that LS

well you have to consider that you cant just buy a head and slap it on. you need to get stronger rod bolts, gsr watercooler and timing belt, pistons, shotpeen your stock rods (makes them stronger), balance the crank, and some other things like a new tranny bc the ls wont go good w the high revving vtec setup. im probably missing something but thats the basics. if i were you id sell that head and buy a turbo kit. the ssautochrome ones are cheap and they used to suck but they fixed most of the problems with them...good luck

Unless you have a valid, not opinion based comment, just keep it to yourself.

An LS/VTEC setup can be perfectly reliable provided your friend knows what he's doing. They aren't that hard to setup, but most people forget that the LS bottom end can't handle being revved over 7400rpm (or so). If you plan on revving the engine higher with the new head, be sure to buy ARP Rodbolts so you dont have any problems. If done correctly, an LS/VTEC can be a much more cost-effective setup than a straight GSR
