Exclamation 2000 GMC Jimmy radio removal

I want to replace my stock radio and need info on how to do it. I did a search and what a pain in the a$$!!!!!! Sure I'll look through 3,977,654,567 hits on removeing a GMC Jimmy radio.....

Can someone give me a link or some info on the wireing diagram and a good installation kit? I also want to wire up a amp and need to know what wire I should use for the remote to the amp and where I should draw power from in the engine compartment (if there is another source than directly to the battery).

Thanks in advanced!

Track.

Re: 2000 GMC Jimmy radio removal

I replaced the stock radio on my '97 Sonoma before I bought my Blazer. I just bought an installation kit from Best Buy or something and it wasn't too hard from that. Just remove the Bezel with the two bolts above the cluster and it pulls right out. As far as another power source, the battery would be the best source although I beleive it would be ok to the connect to the starter cable (which connects directly to the battery as it is). However I am sure there are many electronic experts out there that know more than I do.
