NewMan Porsche 956s

LeMans winners from 1984 and 1985. Older Starter resin kits. Tamiya Yellow over white.

This will be the 1984 car.

Re: NewMan Porsche 956s

The black is all decal, granted, with a little touch up.

The white decals are double printed for opacity. Great, except when they are printed out of registration. The craggy edge was too much to let slide on the 1984 car…

…so I hand brush painted a little cleaner edge to fix it.

Re: NewMan Porsche 956s

i'm definitely following this build. looking good so far!

and the newman scheme is a bit disorienting. had to redo my tamiya one after i realized after decalling that the diagonal stripes on the left side do not go in the same orientation as the one on the right. LOL!

Nice re-do of the stripes! Will looking forward to see this one as Tamiya is re-issuing their NewMan Haas 956!

More decals, just the yellow on the front half is paint. The main scheme is done so it is just the sponsors that need to be applied.

Re: NewMan Porsche 956s

All the decals are on them, some were challenging to get all the pieces lined up as they cracked during application, others were totally unusable and had to be replaced.

The interiors are done too…

Re: NewMan Porsche 956s

Very nice builds! One of the best looking 956's the New Man Porsche's in my opinion!
however i do have a question about the headlight buckets, Why did you do them in a mirror like finish? should they not have been semi gloss black? every picture i have seen so far they are semi gloss black maybe even matt black....

Re: NewMan Porsche 956s

The headlights are solid cast resin chunks with an amber hue, not vac-u-formed covers.
And the instructions made it appear that they were not black
