Power Power and MORE POWER!

ok you all are probably going to hate me for this, but i want to tune my cutlass supreme, i got a 93 2dr with the 3.1L v6, and i want to do some serious work to this thing, maybe add a turbo (probably blow the head instantly) or something, i want a lot of power, and i want to definetly do some work to this baby, body kits. spoiler, everything, i like the look of it now, so as little crazy stuff in looks in good, but i was thinking maybe it'll be better to drop a new engine and tranny, do some suspension and brake work, and tires. but i dont know. i know it'll cost a lot of money, but i want to be able to race and have some fun, today i raced a civic, and kicked its ass, only i dont like pushing my stock cutlass like that. so yea...any info would be great.

Re: Power Power and MORE POWER!

drop a 3.4 dohc in there cheap and lower suspension put on high performance rotors pads and replace or paint calipers(rust prone). add a cold air intake new wheels and rubber snoopy nos and ur good to beat just about any1 youll be racing. all can be done for probably under 5000 if u shop smart.
peace

Re: Power Power and MORE POWER!

i was thinking of dropping in a 3.4 DOHC, i was thinkin just goin to a junkyard and get what i need, but would i be able to just drop in the engine in place of the other one? and i already looked and found a cold air for my current engine. maybe just start off with that. today i took off the duct from the air filter to the throttle body and was in a hurry and didnt put it on, and i noticed a bit more power, and when i had it at WOT it was louder, like you can hear it coming from the throttle body, or something, and will my current tranny fit on a 3.4 DOHC, and are there any upgrades u can do to a 3.4 DOHC too? and im pretty sure nos is illegal around here.

Re: Power Power and MORE POWER!

www.60degreev6.com would be a good place for you to visit. Find out more about your engine. The 3.4 dohc produces more ponies, but it's less reliable, and costs more money to do basic service. On top of that, there is changes in wiring, PCM, possibly fuel pump. I think the engine fits ok.. but its pretty expensive for 60 or 70 more horses. If you really have money to spend.. concider a supercharged 3800.
