Unhappy Rough Idle

I have a '91 Lumina w/3.1. The problem is with a rough idle. When you first start it it will idle fine. You can sit there and rev it all you want and for as long as you want, and it will come back down to a perfect smooth idle. But, as soon as it is driven or put under a load (ie: put in drive with the brake on and press the gas hard) it will then idle rough. If you shut the car off then restart it will idle fine again until put under a load . I tried the idle relearn process. It was no help! The only code it is throwing is code 35, idle speed error. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: Rough Idle

A code 35 is an IAC (Idle Air Control) valve fault. Since this helps control the air/fuel mixture at idle or part throttle, and also compensates for a change in load, take the IAC out of the throttle body and try cleaning it first. They can get carboned up and the pintle of the IAC can get stuck in the bore. Be careful and avoid moving the pintle in or out while cleaning, or it will mess up it's calibration.
