Re: problems?

You will have to do a search for them, the list would be too long to type in one column.
Neons are cheap b/c they tend to break down a lot if not taken care of properly. Most people don't take care of cheap cars to there you go...
They have huge potential for everyday drivers or hot rods or both. Take good care of it and have it forever, neglect it and someone will have to tow you home.
Common problems include Timing belt, must be replaced on time or you will need a new engine. When you replace the belt at 100K miles, change the head gasket too, make sure you get the new MLS one. If you should decide not to replace the head gasket when you do the belt, in about 20-30K miles, you will be replacing it anyway and possibly needing a new or re-built head.
Do the tuneups on time or you will get a CEL. Always use OEM Champion plugs. Never use Dextron ATF in transmission unless you like to R&R transmissions. Use Mopar ATF+3 or +4 only. Keep the paint clean and WAXED. Do not use a BRA on the front. The clear coat is water based and it will collect moisture under the BRA and cause the clear coat to turn "Milky" and rub off. That is also why you need to keep it waxed ALWAYS. Keep the water off of the paint. Look at other Neons and see how many have bad paint, take care of it or pay.
