95 riviera with s/c starts and dies

problem with auto is when you start car it runs for 3/5 seconds and dies smells like it is loading up checked fuel pump pressure its 50 changed plugs/checked all the hoses some times it starts quickly some times it turns several times before starting

Are you getting a check engine light? If so, check your codes. You can take the car to Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts and they will do it for free! You have got to know where to start a diagnosis.

For anyone interested .., I had a problem like this and it turned out to be the Vatts PassKey system . Computer wasnt receiving the right key value and was shutting off the fuel injectors . The car would start then just die .It was an intermittent problem and it did get the right values at start up becuase if it didnt ,it wouldnt even start because it kills power to the starter also. If you have this problem , try another key right away and if it starts and runs thats probably where your problem lies , the Anti-theft system .
