harmonic balancer help

i have a chevy 350 in a 82 full blazer 4x4. the bolts that hold the crankshaft pulley were broken off in the harmonic balancer and now i need to pull balancer off and there are no bolt holes to mount the balancer puller. how can i get the balancer off?

Re: harmonic balancer help

I really hate to say it, but if your really lucky you can remove the rad(s) and drill the broken bolts out. Then tap the holes and use a puller.

An easy out might work in a small hole, but don't count on it (I have bad luck with easy outs)

You'll probably have to remove the motor mounts, and raise the motor up, then drill them out when you have access through the rads opening

Re: harmonic balancer help

Nice thing is that the holes go all the way thru,,, I think,,

Can also use a puller with 3 jaws perhaps to pull the balancer off. Careful either way not to spread the end of the crankshaft.
