Re: Anyone ever use E-85?
I don't know if anyone would find this useful, but here's a link:http://www.iowacorn.org/ethanol/ethanol_5a.html. I'm still reading it, but it seems to answer a lot.
The FFV system allows the driver to use any combination of gasoline or ethanol -- from 100% unleaded gasoline to 85% ethanol. A driver can therefore use unleaded gasoline if ethanol is not available. That actually sounds good to me I must admit, I like the smell of gasoline when I'm filling up the gas tank. |

Re: Anyone ever use E-85?
From the little bit that I have heard, your car has to be designed to handle it. I have seen commercials for new cars that have the ability to use it, but I don't think that unless it is designed for it, you can't use it.

Re: Anyone ever use E-85?
Yeah, your car cant take it. It has to be a "flexible fuel" vehicle. www.e85.org has more info. Actually its 105 octane
. I was thinking about that though, I think in MN they already use like 10%-15% ethanol, I was wondering if you couldnt make some higher octane gas with something like 30% ethanol and have it run ok. |
