RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

Alright guys, try to get rid of your biasness towards the RSX and tell me because my buddy thinks he can Smoke anyone with his Type R with a massive intake and exhaust. I said no. and he told me to pick a car in the same price range. Well i picked this one considering they have about the same HP. So tell me, which would win the Quarter mile??

Re: RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

The Type R but not by much....if he's as good of a driver as he is cocky he'll win, but if the RSXer is a good driver and he isn't (probably isn't guessing by his attitude).

However he'll get smoked by a SRT-4, especially modded. And that's in the same price range.

Re: RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

Depending on your source, 1/4 mile times are dangerously close- though I have seen some that favor the RSX BY THE SLIGHTEST MARGIN (2001 Type R: [email protected] vs. 2005 RSX-S: [email protected] MPH). I think it would definitely be a driver's race stock. With exhaust and intake he'd have an edge. And Canuck's right about the SRT-4, he'd get it handed to him. The new Eclipse GT (Invoice around 22,500) with a 14.3-14.5 quarter mile is another comparably priced car that would beat him. Granted, his car is at least 5 years older than these new models- so that's saying something about the Type R, but it's certainly not invincible. The irony is, if you go ask around in the Civic forum, you'll most likely find a couple of swapped and boosted Civvies that could blow his doors off. Stock specs don't mean too much nowadays when modding is so popular...

And what exactly qualifies as a "massive intake"? SRI or CAI?

Re: RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

Yeah, stock for stock is it a drivers race with the slight edge going to the RSX, but with an i/e the ITR has the advantage. An RSX with a CAI however.....

It's a SAI but it has a huge filter on it, the filter is massive.

I don't got a cavalier anymore, I just recently bought an 01 Celica GT. Not that fast, but i'm not a racer, i'm more into show cars. If I was a racer, I would probably perfer the RSX WAY over the intergra.

Have you seen the Top Secret Gold WBK Celica with the Mr2 engine and more? Pretty awesome.

I would rather take the Type R just my personal preference...RSX-S are nice but there are too many around where I live.

Re: RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

Do you know the theft rate or a Type R? Its insanely high. I'd never want a Type R because i'd always be scared.

All 3 Type Rs from my area are missing....

Re: RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

that would be a horribly close race. The srt4 is not in the same hp range at all. Those also come with different mopar upgrades if you take that into consideration. Niether car would stand a chance. But another thing to consider is that the rsx has horrible drive train loss: more than the type r at least Im not sure if the rsx has the lsd like the type r so.. thats just one more thing to look out for...

Re: RSX Type S vs. Integra Type R

The RSX does not have a LSD and its drivetrain loss is not that bad....its average. Around 12-15% on average.
