I have a Z71 power windows and lock.
Is there an easy way to see if it has keyless entry?
I bought it used and it didn’t come with a keypad but I
Have a feeling that it may have keyless entry.

Thanks
Richard

I would look at the codes in the glovebox for AU0, which should be the RPO for keyless entry

Re: 1997 k1500

I have the AUO code but no RPO.
So this means I have Keyless?

RPO is the name of those alpha/numeric codes (Regular Production Options). So your just looking for the AU0 code in the list of "RPO's".

Re: 1997 k1500

As I read the question I figured that the code I was looking for was AUO.
I just wanted some reassurance that I do have Keyless. I would hate to get a keypad and it not work.
Does anyone know what model keypad I am looking for?
A quick search on the net found plenty of instructions on how to program one.

Thanks
Richard

Re: 1997 k1500

Thanks for the reply. I went to the dealer and got the part # for the remote it is 16245102. $67.94 plus tax. I haven't got one yet b/c other things were more important like replacing my cats and putting on some flowmasters!!!
I may bite the bullet and get one. Every now and then I check ebay.

Re: 1997 k1500

The 16245102 # was replaced by 16245100-29.

I got mine for less than half the dealer price thru https://www.ThePartsYouNeed.com with instructions.
