Question JWT / Stillen POP

I was browsing through se-r.net and came across this page...

http://www.se-r.net/engine/intake_install.html

Should that silver strip really be pointing up as stated?

lol, I purposely put mine facing down so you wouldnt see it.

...not that this matters since my Hotshot CAI will go in this weekend, but just as future reference I'd like to know.

I don't think it really matters as long as you can get your air temp. sensor in the holes.

Can you describe the "hole" for the air temp sensor in the Stillen? Is it in the adaptor plate or in the filter itself? Or better yet, how about posting a picture? I have been trying to figure out how to re-intergrate the air temp sensor after upgrading my intake, which has no place for the sensor.

Here is a picture of my K&N and the sensor. I drilled three holes on the chrome end of the filter. 2 small holes for the screws and one larger hole for the sensor.

You have to chip away at the rubber on the inside so the sensor will fit flush on the filter chrome cap.

I will try to take more pics of the filter off of the car and post.

And here is the link the the www.se-r.net site where they show the actual $tillen filter with the sensor holes already there.

http://www.se-r.net/engine/images/pop2.jpg

Since my intake was purchased back in '94, the sensor holes where not in the filter. I also did not like how the $tillen filter put the sensor right in the center of the chrome end cap.

My sensor is located right under the K&N logo.
