Plug Wrenches
Having assumed my plugs were rusted beyond removal I have come to a new conclusion... I wasn't even making contact with the plugs, or so I think. Does the 95, 3.1 APV require a thin wall socket or at least thinner than the standard Craftsman variety plug sockets? And if so is the socket a special order item or do I need to flag down the next Snap-On or MAC truck I see?

Re: Plug Wrenches
No special socket is required. If you are working on the rear plugs, it is possible someone else didn't change them when required and stripped them out trying to remove them. The spark plugs seizing in the cylinder head is fairly common on neglected 3.1 engines.

Re: Plug Wrenches
Thanks I will keep trying the PB Blaster. The walls around the plug just seem realy small and I thought the socket wasn't getting around the plug.

and if you are using a 1/2 inch drive, might try a 3/8 drive, sockets usually thinner. Isnt any exaust manifold gasket edge sticking up in the way are there, causing socket to leant and not go on straight?? |

Re: Plug Wrenches
also put some anti-sieze on the new plug threads. I hope you are using quality ac-delco plats, and ac-delco wires.

Re: Plug Wrenches
Thanks, use anti seize regularly and yes Delco plugs and wires. Most other parts are from NAPA with lifetime replacement (were applicable) and AAA discount. I did pick up an 3/8 dr, extended plug socket and will try that in a week or so when I can get another day off.
