Re: want 70 judge
You probably should increase your budget if you REALLY want a '70, especially The Judge. Rusted hulks are going for around $5K if they're a documented Judge. A "salvageable" '70 would probably go in the $3-4K range. Hard to come by. Best of luck.

You might find a useable mid '70's lemans or grand prix for that kind of money. A decent bumper for a '70 GTO could cost you $2,000.00. I doubt you could find a "salvageable" '70 GTO for $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 unless by salvageable we are talking no driveline, grass growing in the trunk kind of salvageable.

Re: want 70 judge
To keep your spirits up, rent or buy "Two Lane Blacktop" and watch Warren Oates unleash his "Five hundred foot-pounds of torque" 'til you find your own car.

I think the plot is weak, but thats what makes it cool. About the 1970. If you don't mind a clone, you can buy a 1970 or 71 or 72 and use it. The 71 and 72 from the door back are the same, and you can get a fiberglass front end at vfnfiberglass.com (i'm on page 7, selfless plug). You can get a 72 lemans and just change the front end, and get the car you want alot, lot , lot less then trying to find a 70 GTO. As long as you don't try to see the car as some thing it's not your fine, some people don't like it, people who have a real one get pissy because they spent tons of money and when a fake and real sit side by side only the number crunchers (vin) know the real and fake, but you never hear people crying about Fake SS Chevys go figure... I look at it this way, since real Pontiacs died in 79, think of a GTO clone as a battle field commission. Deloren took Le mans and Tempests and changed the names and engines and molding on some of the cars he did, not production cars, but he did this on alot of cars for picture shoots and raceing events, so it just shows how close the Lemas was to the GTO, just an engine and trim package away, GTO dad does it, dont feel bad about doing it. I hope this helps. |
