dead neon, and i'm confused

well, my girlie's car is a 95 neon. car wouldn't start last week so i changed the fuel pump(hit the tank to get it to pump). when i put the new one in, i checked the pump to make sure it primed b4 i filled the tank... now it won't pump at all. no fuel pressure at the schreader valve. it won't prime anymore either... there is 12v at the fuelpump connector, and the ASD relay is good....i'm confused because when someone tries to start the car, i can hear the pump running...but it still won't get fuel pressure at the schreader valve....
anybody have any clue if i'm missing something? in theory this thing should run....
thanks in advance...

Re: dead neon, and i'm confused

you could try the fuel pressure regulator. On a 99 they are on the outside of the tank.I am not sure exactly on the older models.I can look it up and post it tomorrow if no one else has helped out by then.

That sucks but it does happen from time to time. At least you didn't go replacing parts that didn't need to be.
