Valve train noise.
I had a 99 (R.I.P) 4.0 with 150k on it and by comparison my 04 with 66 (when i bought it it now has 75k) makes twice the valve train noise. i know these engines are essentially bullet proof but there's just a little too much chatter on this 04 motor. what should sound like a sewing machine kinda sounds like there may be a slightly bent push rod. should i be at all worried. this engine does nothing wrong. i burn no oil and i run full synthetic, it's getting 20.5 mpg on the computer and have done the math and come up with similar numbers. so should i even care. or should i look to break out the tools and put a new cam in it.
