Paint damage from a Magnet w/ a sticker on it.....
Hello!
My problem is paint damage related. I put a manget on the back of my JEEP Grand Cherokee. Not a problem, as I have had different magnets on it before, removing them periodically to clean, etc. The problem is that I didn't look at this magnet well. It had a clear sticker on the back of it w/ white printed text. Upon removing it the other day, I noticed that the area where the text sticker was has sort-of "clouded" the paint. I was just wondering how do you go about repairing this sort of paint damage? Or is there any way other than re-painting that area? Thanks! Chuck |

Just take some 3M fine grit rubbing compound and apply to a cotton towel and rub on the paint. Afterwards, throw a coat of glaze and polish to bring it back to a luster.

Use a circular polisher ie,makita 9227 a wool pad. mist pad lightly with water, apply compound to pad.spead on affected area. with the polisher on the paint turn polisher on. speed setting on 2 appox 900 rpms and polish in a figure 8 until compound is almost dry. remove compound. After compounding, polishing is required to eliminate compounding haze & restore gloss.A foam pad would be for polishing. finally finish with your fav wax or sealant. wax& or sealant is applied with a dual action polisher,by hand, not with a circular polisher.randon orbiral buffers can also be used to apply wax.
