Headliner

anyone ever make there own headliner? what kinda material is under the cloth? i have to make a new one cause mine is all dry rotted and coming apart??

My mom does upholstery crap for a living. I think its some kind of condenced foam. It gets everywhere, real pain in the ass. You can get some special spray glew and material of your choice and put it in yourself. would not cost to much. 5-10 for glew and however much for the material. Or you can have a pro do it and get a custom headliner. That would be sweet. They can put designs in it. good luck with whatever you do

J. C. Whitney sells the material for doing headliners. The material has the foam backing already on it. To glue it down to the liner board you should use 3M spray trim adhesive.

Friend of mine changed out his headliner in his Monte Carlo and put in up some vinyl instead of the cloth material, looks really sharp. I've even considered doing it.

were do I get the liner board (what is it?). that is what is messed up on mine.
