Where does this go???
I have an 89 Formula with the L98 engine (TBI). Now, I have a thin vacuum hose that runs from underneath the throttle body, back past the EGR valve, that isn't connected to anything. It's just hanging out there.
According to the vacuum hose diagram, it should be running to about the same place as the thin hose that comes out of the EGR itself. The Chilton's from 1989 doesn't have the best diagrams. The unconnected hose is just long enough to reach as far as the EGR outcoming hose is, but I can't find a place to connect it! Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? And can this 2mm thick vacuum hose be the cause of my rough idle and overall running crappy???

Re: Where does this go???
it is possible...put your finger on it and see if it has vacuum itself. There is a vacuum connection on the back of the plenum for the a/c and charcoal canister that ties right in there on TPI motors...it could be that...does your a/c selector work? Do you get all the different vent positions I mean? The only thing I can think of is spray some carb. cleaner lightly around the area and see if you get a rise in idle in any specific area. Probably best to do it at startup after it idles down but isnt scorching hot everywhere yet. Also, a picture might help...one that can be blown up or a decent quality one so I can get a basic layout of your engine...

Re: Where does this go???
Cool. I'll try to get a picture of what I'm talking about. It's not the hose from the canister to the throttle body, it's a tiny one from underneath the throttle body going back towards the firewall.
I'm going to try the carb cleaner trick in the morning though.
