Re: want new paint job and tops what should i got with
Black top/red body.. or Black top/navy blue body... or black top/white body.. there's an infinite amount of possibilities. What colors do you prefer? What would you like it to be? Asking a vague question like that is going to get you dozens of opinions. As you may have noticed, I prefer black tops. They don't show dirt as badly as light colored tops do.
As for your second comment. Give us some time to respond. Not everyone has the luxury of getting to sit at home on the computer all day. Heck, I just got off work.

I have to agree, this is too vague. do you want a factory color combo, a custom one? What are your objectives with the car- do you drive it every day, weekends, car shows/ cruise nights only? where do you live? (example, I wouldn't suggest a black car and roof if you live in phoenix)
Help us out with a little info first. Also, consider that if you change the color of the car, then you need to paint the door jambs, every little crevise and opening, otherwise you'll have a 2 tone car anytime you open the hood, door, trunk, etc. you'd need to strip the car down and do it right. Furthermore, how much do you plan to spend on this? Please write back ansdwering this, then we cna help you go from there. Do you or do you have any friends who can use photoshop and have a digital camera? If you do ,then upload some pics of your car in to Photoshop and change the colors. This way you can see your car in alternate colors without spending a dime. then you'll know what looks good first. |

Well, when it comes to convertibles... I really only think Black top with either a white or red body looks the best. It's just straight forward and allows the car itself to stand out more than the top.

It'll be hot as hell, but black on black is my choice...especially if you want the convertible top to be as subtle as possible.

I've never been into that "eddie Bauer" green and brown myself.
I'd suggest the black top if you can bear the heat. You probably have a brown interior too. too bad you couldn't swap it with a grey one. working with the color of the interior (you need to think of the car as a "package") I'd look at some cars with the same color interiors if I were you. walk around some dealerships or used car lots. look at how the interior color works with the outside color. does it match? does it compliment one another (or does it visually bother you)? most importantly- do you like it? Personally, I'd keep the car green so the masking and dissassembly to change the car to another color won't be too bad. But I'd go with something a little different. Maybe "Brewster" green from the early 70's? or maybe there's another green on a current car you might like. If you stick with a production color (from any car), future repairs/ matching will be much cheaper and easier because the paint will be a standardized color and it'll be volume produced. The other nice thing about the black top is it'll work with any exterior color you decide upon if you can't afford to make both changes atthe same time. The bestthing t odo after you see a color you like is photoshop it on your car and see how it looks. it's much, much easier to swap colors here than paint the car and then decide you don't like it. |
