Oil pressure seems off...
I've been watching the oi pressure gauge on my Camaro very closely recently because it's started to bounce a lot. The gauge used to either fall or rise in a pretty smooth motion but now it seems to waver/bounce a lot more. I can come to a stop and the pressure will stay right around 60 pounds, or fall to 45 then jumo to 60. Sometimes however, the pressure will fall in a nice smooth manner until it hits about 20 pounds...
I also think that the pressure is a bit high when the car is just cruising along. At normal speeds, (45-60mph), the pressure runs over 60 pounds, is this normal? Any ideas or information would be appreciated. If the info is needed, I have a 1991 Camaro RS, V8, automatic tranny...

when your gauge starts reading irratically it's usually a sign that the oil pressure sending unit is going bad. It's located in the block just above the oil filter on the driver's side.
