Re: intercooled non-turbo

you could, but it would do nothing more than what a cold air intake would do..

Yea, It's called a cold air intake. Cooler air is got outside the hot engine bay. Usually in front of the radiator.

Re: intercooled non-turbo

an intercooler can only bring intake air down to ambient air pressure. it would give no gain compared to a cold air intake to a non-turbo car. in fact, it would probably lower horsepower because it's a restriction in the intake (that's why you get more turbo lag in turbo engines with intercoolers)

Re: Re: intercooled non-turbo

the purpose of the intercooler is to reduce heat in the air from the turbo/blower(not as common in blown engines) as compressing air generates alot of heat, plus a turbo exposes the intake air to exhaust heat.

Re: intercooled non-turbo

Try a Cool Can instead. Spiral some fuel line inside a container that you can put ice into (like a large coffee can). Install inline. You will notice a small difference at the track.
