completed nova modified stock car

I have not posted much lately, and I haven't built much lately, but I managed to finish this. I finally got my stock car done. It's a fictional car that you might have seen on a local dirt track in the 1970's, that has seen some hard racing. I used AMT's Nova body, the chassis is from AMT's 34 Ford modified. I scratch built some and raided the parts box some too. I weathered the car with my airbrush, and dry brushed paint scrapes. I am very happy how it turned out. It has just the look that I wanted. Let me know what you all think.

Nice! The scrapes and dents are very well done. Track and camber are outrageous! That is one hard working machine.

Re: Re: completed nova modified stock car

As a track photographer, race official, modeler and part time sign painter I have spent a lot of "quality" time with and shot many picture of Novas like this one and its "big brothers" back in the day. Even I had trouble believing that some of those pics weren't "detail reference" shots of the real thing that you used to build the model. If you don't mind I would like to photoshop it into a shot of my shop and see how it turns out. I'll try and get it done in the next few days and post it here. That is an incredible job on that little "dirt dobber"!

I've had to look this thing over a few times just to appreciate it completely. Wonderful work! Just great.

I'm having all kinds of problems with my e-mail so I'll see what I can do with the pics on here. Give me a couple of days and we'll see what turns out.

Thumbs up

Looks like it's ready to run some laps. Very accurate IMO. Dents looks real too.

Great job! Very realistic. Everything you did inside and out portrays the car well.
