revell ITR engine into a fujimi ITR?
to those that have done this swap, will the scale difference (1/25 revell engine into a 1/24 integra body) be noticeable? Will the engine look absolutely tiny in the body? I just wanted to know before I started cutting the hood.

I'm still planning to do it, goofy scales ot not. Put enough homemade detail into the engine bay and no one will know.

Jay's right! and prepare to scratch build many things. For one, mounts to fit the Revell engine. Cut out the bottom engine details on the Fujimi base. I'm up to this point right now.

The scale isn't a problem. It ends up looking like a B16 (1.6L Civic motor) instead of B18 (Integra motor). Same valve cover and everything. :alien2: The bitch on the fujimi model is opening the hood near the headlights. Be careful here or I else you'll be pissed off!:bandit:

I have a semi-related question: On the Mugen ITR, they give you that piece to fill the gap between the headlights. For the real car, is that part of the hood, or does the hood end in the same place?

yup I consided all the scratchbuilding already including the battery, water reservoirs and so on. Jay, the little piece in between the headlight should be molded into the body and a new line for the hood is scribed between thew headlights so half of that portion becomes part of the hood and the other half becomes part of the bumper. thanks for the tips guys, now I have to start worrying about the the headlight and hood cutting.

I brought this thread back from the dead to see if any of you actually ever pulled this off, and if there are any pics circulating around with this bashed engine swap. Show me what you got!

Re: revell ITR engine into a fujimi ITR?
blueboost, I was shocked to see a thread I created a few years back!
I'm currently still in the process of doing this. The engine looks a tad small but not too noticeable. I'm still making resin copies to be used for my other cars. Will post pics soon |

I wouldn't either! too many models in the work and this one isn't on the priority list!
