Question '99 Saab 9-5 sedan - does anyone have this problem?

In the morning, when we go out to start the car, it doesn't turn over. When we hear that the engine sounds like it will, it kind of dies, or stalls. It takes a couple tries to get it to turn over and stay.

This morning, the engine was taking a while before it turned over. It just kept making the cranking sound.

Does anyone have the same problem?

put your nose by the connector at the right side of the direct ignition cassette(on top of head). does it smell burnt? if it smells burnt, you need a new di cassette. possible causes; fuel pump, di cassette, main or fuel relay, mass air flow sensor, throttle body or a large vacuum leak. also, do you know what software version your trionic has in it? if it hasnt been updated in a while, this may be part of your problem.
