D15B1 to d16z6 swap ?'s about mpfi

ok been I've doing some reading but I still have a few gray areas i need to clear up before i move forward. first of i have a 90 civic std and will be swaping in the d16z6 with a 4g si manual transmission. The d16z6 was out of a 94 EX and I have the ecu from the same car. I plan to get a obd0 to obd1 conversion harness from JDMshit so i can use obd1. My questions come in on wiring the mpfi since the old engine was dpfi.
Since I am planning on using obd1 do i need part of the harness from a 92-96 ex/si? what additoinal wiring will be involved for this setup? Also is there a write up on what I am trying to do anywhere so i don't have to bug the forum

thanks

check www.4thgenerationcivic.com under perfomance upgrades. do you have the harness for the ex? i dont think youll need the resistor for the injectors since youll be using the ex ecu, hope i helped.

thanks, i found and read though that article just before your reply. So i've got a little more grasp on it. I just bought a injector wire harness with the resistor. I know i don't need the resistor, so from what i understand i would just need to hook the yellow/black wire from my harness to the yellow/black on the multi point harness i just bought and I will be all set for power? Then just run the other wires from the ecu according to the "how to". I'm sure it will be more aparent once I can actually look at the harness but it never hurts to ask.

thanks,
Chris

Re: D15B1 to d16z6 swap ?'s about mpfi

There is a bit of an issue with what you want to do and looking the conversion.

Most Conversion articles are for DX to ZC. ZC uses the same peak and hold injectors with low impendence as the 88-91 Si, and is obd0.

The new injectors for z6 are saturated injectors and run with high impedance and do not need the resistor box.

Also the injector clips for the injectors are different. Unless you want to mod the 88-91 clips you will need the later model ones for obd1.

I don’t know if the peak and holds will work for obd1 and vtec.

Otherwise the install is similar, except:
The dizzy plug is different for the obd1, You CANNOT run the 88-91 obd0 dizzy in your case!
You will need to run the 4-wire obd1 o2 sensor or you will get a code

And what intake do you have? The MAP sensors are different in the model years.

Have fun!

hmm, too bad i didn't know about the clips before or I would have gotten a different injector harness. hopefully i can make the ones i am getting work.
after reading the article posted earlier i realize i donot need the resistor for obd1. I have an entire obd1 setup minus the wire harness. I have the ecu, dizzy, intake, injectors and all other components. I plan on using a obd0 to obd1 conversion harness from jdmsh!t which has the piggyback and 4 wires for the o2 sensor. then i believe someone on another forum makes a obd0 to obd1 dizzy adapter.
so are you saying the plug for the MAP be different at well?

thanks for the continued info.
