318 M????
any info on a '96 or '97 318 M edition would be greatly apperciated

I bet there is an M3 version of the 318. I was driving next to one about 2 months ago. Except its more of a hatchback, than a coupe. But, yes, there is one. I bet you can find one in good condition for about $10-$15,000.

I think the 1.8ti was just adhesive tuned with M bits, ie....body parts! It had standard "sport" suspension not 'M' tuned and that went for the engine as well, bog standard M44....nothing wrong with that though, its a cracking little engine, I love my ti.............
