Rear 5x7 Speakers

Ok i got a question or two. First i was wondering if anyone had plate speakers in the back of their car were the 5x7 speakers are. Also how hard are those things to get out. All i see is a lot of plastic

In my 91 Laser, i yanked them POS speakers out and modded the bracket and put some 6x9's in. The rear kick panel just has a couple screws you can see when you take out the back seat. There are also clips along the top of the panel also.


P.S. Might be easier to buy a repair manual? Usually step by step.

I already had stock 6x9's, but the magnet was too deep in the new ones.

Just make some custom mounting things...it really isnt too hard, just take some metal pieces and use them. However, what is easier would be to just use some 6 1/2's...they sound just as good if not better and will mount up very easily. And yeah, the stock speakers do suck.

Lol, i did the same thing, except on my 95 eclipse. Its easy just take the templet included with the aftermarket 6x9s and take the black plastic mount and a rotozip and cut that mofo out. Drill your holes for the speaker screws. The stock speaker grills fit right back over with no modification. Hope this helps! Mine also took a persuasion tool..lol.
