I know the feeling. I have been always disappointed that some Canadian models as well as Asian models do not have the same equipement. In Canada and Asia for instance, The Santa Fe has power seats, but in the US it didn't at the time I bought it. Its fustrating and its beyond my understanding how they come up with the decisions to sell something in one spot while in the other they don't.

a fellow two spirit?
anyways, Ive emailed hmc canada about it, all i get is same old run around answer: allour models meet or exceed government specifications. well duhhhhhhhhh, if they diddnt they woould be allowed to sell em here. in second e mail i got, basically the responce of: reasoning is to keep price of vehicle competitive... fu@!, the Kia Sportage, its twin from the lower arm 'kia' since hyundais supposed to be the higher end now HAS THEM i thought to my self... but i gave up trying to make my point, i think i know more about the cars than the people working there |

You are right that they come back to say "to keep price of vehicle competitive", which to me is counter productive. The vehciles themselves are very well low in price compared to the competition, adding an itme that is already on the vehicle that is sold across the border or elsewhere in other markets should not bring the price up so much.
Besides with the amount of standard equipment these vehicles have compared to other makes, to me makes the vehicles the better one in value. Adding an item already in place elsewhere would just make the deal/value much more better. As for twospirits, it was something my grandfather told me when I was younger, That I did not have one spirit/guardian angel looking over me but actually two. Hence two spirits. TS out
