Unhappy Engine MISFIRE

I have a 97 Neon DOHC my engine runs fine when i first start it up, but after a while it starts to misfire for a few seconds then it corrects itself, then it keeps doing it off and on during idle. When i start to drive it runs just fine.I connected my scanner and got codes that cyclinder 1 misfired, then it's either cyclinder 2 and 4 misfired or cyclinder 3 and 4 along with #1.I've only had the car a year so i figured i'd ask in this forum for some help with this problem before i start to working on my car?

P.S :THANKYOU FOR ANY HELP!!!

Re: Engine MISFIRE

some advice a friend gave me referring to srt-4's, but could apply here also:
The spark plugs
in the car are not up to the job. They are Champions,
and because of the high boost, they can misfire due to
what we call insulator puncturing. However, NGK does
make spark plugs you can buy as aftermarket.

Re: Engine MISFIRE

The champions on the regular (non SRT-4) neon are fine, however they could be due for a change along with the plug wires. Very easy to do on this car. Change the plugs and wires and see what happens. There should be an improvement.
