WHen you say "air compressor", I suppose you're talking of the A/C compressor, no?
The a/c compressor will be put to work whenever you choose the DEFroster or mix DEF/HEAT, even if you need to heat the car. Most HVAC systems are wired that way. THe incoming air is always fed through the evaporator anyway, and turning the A/C on cools the air and dehumidifies it before reheating it again, thus in fact providing air with a very low relative humidity, which helps defog the windshield much faster. Very good also when it rains and you enter the car and the dehumidified then reheated air will dry out moisture from clothes in a very short time. However, when outside temperature goes below about 32F, a presssure switch on the refrigerant line will cut off the a/c for good. I hope I answered the right question....if not come again .EDIT:....About the "lukewarm" problem, there have been several posts on this forum: check for posts with replies from Randman1 on similar topics...possibly linked to mixer/diverter door, a common problem.. |

LMP,,yes the air conditioner compressor.
I dropped the glove compartment box and watched the lever move which seemed it went all the way as far as it could go,, then I went under the dash just under between where the radio and steering wheel is and watched that piece move when I turned the switch, the switches I turned were from air conditioning to heat,,,and from air vents to heat defrost vents, all vents seemed to work right. LMP I will check out what you said and go from there,,thanks Myke48 |
