Angry I have a serious problem in Adobe Illustrator!

I have a picture I want to edit, I've used photoshop 7 to adjust the threshold to make it black and white, when I click on file>export>paths to illustrator, and save it as a .AI. But, when I open the file with Illustrator, the picture doesn't show up, it's blank, and the layers menu doesn't show anything, just a blank page. But, I overcame this, and got it to work a differant way.

I want to "create outlines", so I can edit the shape of the black and white, etc, but no matter what I do, the "create outlines" thing is never highlighted, i.e. I can't select it, and it's pissing me off. This assignment is due in a few days!

I posted here because not everyone visists the computer forum, and I need this urgent.

I have tryed the Illustrator help, but EVERY SINGLE .html file is blank! Nothing! Even the source code is missing! The asshole who cracked this must of gone through every file to delete everything.

HELP!

Re: I have a serious problem in Adobe Illustrator!

No I didn't, but I just tried, and it doesn't seem to want to let me duplicate the layer. There isn't even an options, in any menu, or by right-clicking, like in photoshop.

This program works with vector shapes, rather than images, that's the tricky part.

*edit*

I tried doing what I'm trying to do with the picture with a letter. It works.

I am able to type the letter, change it's size, and move to "outline preview", which then, I can use the direct selection tool, and "create outline". The same method doesn't work with the picture, but I've done it before!

I think you would get better results if you post this in the Computers / Electronics / Technology forum.
