Re: lift kits

4wd uses a completely different suspension in front, so getting a 4wd lift won't help. If you want to lift your truck, you should be able to go with taller springs in front and larger lift blocks or more arched springs in back.

Re: lift kits

If you want to go with 4x4, then you're better off selling your rig and buying one with stock four wheel drive. Installing the capability into a 4x2 is so much more trouble than it's worth that it isn't even funny.

It can be done, but the expense and difficulty of fabrication will make it almost unworthy. If you have the skills, tools, time, and money, it could be a fun project. Bolting on the transfer case will be easy, but you will have to remove the entire front suspension and fabricate mounts for the front springs to hold the front axle. Good luck!

Re: lift kits

Not easy; I'd go with the previous advice on this one and buy a 4wd. In reference to your other thread about lifting the vehicle, you'll need alot more than shocks to do the 4" lift you're talking about. Check at skyjacker or some other lift kit manufacturer; I don't know if they even make lift kits for 2wd trucks.

(End result: buy 4wd!!)
