Our manual says that we should use 91 at least (i think the last i read). I have been using 93 since I got the car, and since 93 is about 10-15cents more per gallon here, I was wondering what you people thought about 91. What are the advantages of using 93 over 91. Is there better performace or engine life? What do you recommend using? Thanks

In New Zealand here we can use either 91 or 96.
I have run my car on both them and to be honest i have found no difference at all.
They say to use 91, so thats what i use as it's about 10cents cheaper a litre.
Your gas may be a little different than here but i would just go for the 91.
They ask every one here to use the 91 as it has less lead than 96.

Geez, I just wish they sold 93 octane fuel at the pumps here. The highest you can get is 91, unless you go to a speed shop or somewhere like that.

Most of our pumps say 93, 89, 87 I think. Some have 91. But who knows, its just a sticker right....hehehe

You would definatly want to use a higher octane fuel if you have your timing advanced to anything higher than stock, just so you dont cause detonation.

Im probably gonna use 89 or 91 now, its about $1.67 for Mobile here. 93 is like like $1.75. There isnt much differnece between the two, and a big price differnce. Ill go back to 93 if the gas ever gets cheaper. (It used to be like 85 cents back in 1998. Those were the good times)

I've been using 87 ever since I got my car, my car now has 8900 miles on it. No problems yet...

I jacked the timing to 19 BTDC soon after buying my P11. I've used nothing but super priemum 91 octane or higher. I've also got cams and other mods. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Not to metion the sulfer content in the lower grade gases scares me.

What's up everyone I am new to this forum ,but use to visiting the other popular websites and forums..(IE.) SE-R.net SR20DE forum and now finally a G20 forum. This is beautiful!!!!!!!!
I wanted to comment on the topic of gas preferrences. I own a 95/G20t/Auto/Blk with mods:Stillen Header/Intake/JWT S3Cams/ECU/Greddy/down pipe. (I JUST REMOVEd THE MUFFLER QUIET FOR AROUND TOWN ANNOYING DRONE WHEN ON LONG TRIPS TO JERSEY!)......OK back to gas, Before I modified my car I had always used 93 octane and now that I have the JWT ecu and cams, It's recommended that I continue to use 93 octane gas. I almost always use AMOCO, But now I use EXXON 93. I get better
gas mileage per gallon. I also use K&N oil filter and 10w30 or 5w30 Mobil 1 synthetic oil.:flash:
