I have a 94 Astro with a 4.3 (220K) that just recently showing oil pressure readings in the red after 15 mins of driving. It only has the low oil pressure when I come to a stop or is at an idle. In addition, the engine will knock. The oil is always full on the dipstick and there are no leaks. Because I am not the primary driver, I changed the oil and filter and even put in Slick50. After doing that, the knocking has quiet and the oil pressure hasn't hit bottom, but still at the top of the red. I havent had time to check the compression, as i work out of town. Somebody have a quick fix for me, so I can get started as soon as I roll back in town?

Re: 94 Astro Oil Pressure
with that many miles there is no quick fix. cam bearings and crankbearings are what give you your oil pressure. when they wear out it is time for a rebuild. you might try stp for awhile but it sounds like time for a rebuild.

Re: 94 Astro Oil Pressure
Could it possibly be the oil pressure sensor ? My Astro is doing the same I'm hoping for a easy & cheap fix.

Re: 94 Astro Oil Pressure
