I was outside tinkering with my car (and getting eaten alive by mosquitos!), and well, my results aren't good. Number 1 cylinder: 145. Number 2 cylinder: 145. Number 3: 90. I put some 80w90 gear oil in the number 3 cylinder, and tested again. It went up to 115. I guess this means my engine is worn out

You can purchase a low mileage JDM (Japaneese Domestic Market) engine on e-bay for about $350. !!
I was going to go this route with my 91 metro, but a new timing belt solved alot of my problems. |
