occassional transmission glitch 98 T&C

On several occassions the transmission in my 1998 Town and Country has dropped out of gear. I noted once that the transmission indicator LED did not show a gear either...no circle around anything. I shifted to neutral (the indicator showed the "N"), then back to drive and the trans reengaged, no further prolems until it did it again..at about the same place on the same road implying the same load on a steep uphill at low speed. Any ideas?

T&Cs have a reputation for trannys going out around 75,000 - 100,000 miles. You might be losing yours. I was having tranny problems on my '96 and it was suggested to me to have the transmission fluid changed. It was not supposed to repair it but it did help. I eventually sold it, although disclosing the problems. Yep, I bought another one.
