Hi all I've recently just a bought a 91 supra which I'm pretty impressed with perfomance rise. I've had about 2 weeks now and ever since I've had it it has made a noise when turning the car right kind of knocking noise the fast you corner the louder it is and you can't feel it through the steering. It doesn't do it in a stright line or turning left. The guy I bought it from seems to think it is a noise power steering pump. But I'm thinking wheel bearing or balljoints. I did the wheel bearing test by seeing if their's any play in the wheel it's self but it seems to be solid as a rock. The guy who had it before me has put new suspension all round and lowered it about 30mm I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. Also the tyres are wearing on the outter & inner edge either down to under inflation or ball joints. Any idea's I would mouch appreciated for your help

Re: Steering Problem
Hi everone I had a second look at the steering and decided to jack the front of the car and spin the wheel to see if I can hear any bearing noise. Which I did hear a lot slight the harder I spun the wheel which concures with the faster I'm traveling the noiser the it is. I think I'm going to order a replacement wheel bearing for it and fingers crossed should solve the problem.
If anyone has had a simular problem please feel free to give me advice on how to get around the problem. Cheers Supramann! |
