r6 vs. gsx-r600

any thoughts on a yamaha r6 vs. suzuki gsx-r600??

I hear both bikes are very lite weight, with good power plants. I'm a suzuki man myself, but I think the R6 is quicker in the long run........now thr R1000 is a beast, but suzuki was the new GSX1000 out also.........Now that what I really need in my life right about now!!!!!:bandit:

I'd go with the Zuki, I just am a fan of Zuki's, there's a gsx-r600 around here I do believe, I'm not really too knowledgeable about bikes, but it looks so nice, I really want to get one. I've never owned a bike before, but I'd like to sometime. Wanna get into lessons first though. I wouldn't want to look like a dumbass dumping a brand new bike.

Hey bud take the classes there worth it & even after you take the classes YES you will dump the bike it happens no one is safe from it it's just a part of life.

I took the classes & came back with more confidence & knowledge of how not to be a dumass like a lot of people out there that take to many chances. You need to know your bikes limits & where your limits are at, true its awsome power can make you gidy & feel invincebale it may not be you but the other person that does not see you nor can read you intentions can be at fault 100% of the time they always say I didnt see the bike.

Yeah I have dumped my brand new bike, but it was my lack of experience that did it.

But get one its a new world & its fast, fun & has big potentials for adreniline rushes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd go for the GSX-R600 unless yamaha have changed the R6 this year.

Anyone know if the 2002 R6 has been changed? anyone done a comparison in a mag or website anywhere? 2002 r6 vs 2002 gsx-R600?

The R6 is unchanged from last year.

I reccommend the gixxer. Its fuel injected, light, looks better, has a little more room.

i think that it is up to you because i have a 01 r6 and i have put down every 600 in the class,i have even beat my friend 750gxr,i am going to tell you why, the r6 put out the most whp(over 100whp) the other bikes put out in the 90's or some where, and try hold a gear all of the way to 15,500rpm in a ninja,cbr,or a gsx-r

Seems like your buddy on the 750 needs to learn how to ride. I was never beat by an R6 when I had my 750. Now I have the 1000, and the R6s run and hide.

I don't get that???? I've ridden a few R6s. I have never had problems finding the rev limiter in any of the lower gears.


Basically, I comes down to the rider. I have saw a guy on bone stock 97 600 GSXR smoke lightly modded R6. I'm not bashing the R6 here. I'm just saying, you need to be aware that rider skill plays alot in the world of performance bikes.

well we will have to see i did not mean to harm no one, but i have a that was with my r6, but i have a 02 r1 coming soon and they have changed them to fuel injected and they are in a new color silver now how about that :bandit:

The new R1 has some trick parts. But its not enough to keep up with the 1000.
