My truck used to bog like a fat lady running to the pisser. Well Just last night I put on a new distributer cap and rotor, ($17 Fleet Farm) now it's running awesome. I would do a compression test on each cylinder to check for bad valves and such. Find a "Tools for Less" store neer you, or Fleet Farms shouldn't be too spendy either. I got mine for $20 and it's not genaric or anything. If you don't know what the psi readings mean just post em here and I can tell you whats wrong and what they probably mean, or if you don't know how just ask. Not trying to make you sound bad just making sure.
Try checking the distributer cap, rotor, spark plugs, and plug wires before you try that though, it wont take as long.I think you are talking about the catalytic converter when you say emissions canister, and a hole in that would make an odd exhaust leak noise but IMO I don't think it would make you stall and bog unless it's clogged. Im a friggin RAPPER BOG CLOG! bawe chicka wowow. haha.

Forgot to ask if it's auto or manual and the mileage on it. If it's auto check the torque converter for the stalling stuff. If it's manual it could be the clutch slipping but I don't know much about either of those. And I just read you tried to bypass it with hoses so im guessing now it's not the cat heh, my bad.

Re: Simple Question For Camaro Junkies
its the evaporative emissions canister, theres a hole in the filter in the bottom and gas is pouring out, so like i said i bypassed the hoses but yes it still retains the initial problems, i just want to know if im bypassing it wrong, i know you dont need the canister, i just dont want to have to spend money to get a new one....if anything i just said makes any sense, by the way i love your car

teehee! Haha thanks, It's an 89 Z28 that has a 95 LT1 engine swap in it. Im going to put a T56 in after I save another $200 to ship it to me. I already baught it, and have the T56 held for me, but I still need to ship it up here.
I can't wait, I already baught a car storage garage thing for it in the winter. It's ganna be awesome, but ANYWHO... Since it's automatic I would just check the electrical (plugs, cap, rotor, wires, blah blah blah) and if you dont find anything wrong or corrosion and so on I would do the compression test. It's not hard to do and you can almost pinpoint the problem with it. If the problem has anything to do with your valves, cylinders, pistons, gaskets, bearings, rings, and many other things in those catagories that would find it. IMO im thinking it could be your vavletrain for the stalling and the bad acc. if it's not your electrical. Maybe an exhaust valve stuck close or 100 other things with it could be, but since the miles are reasonably low it could be something else. Or it could be the canister dealy even, but honestly I don't know anything at all about them, haha sorry. Just wait a few hours and some guru's will show me up. Good luck.

Re: Simple Question For Camaro Junkies
yeah, buy gas i assumed you meant the vapor kind, but if liquid gasoline is coming out then you have a different problem all together, i would also check your timing, as incorrect timing will cause the problem you are talking about. Also, your IAC vavle may be bad, causing the stall at idle.
