Re: Whats With The Power Stearing Pump

Does that mean a hose or fitting is leaking, the pump is overflowing or what?

Same with my '88. That's my next project. When it's cold outside, and I start my truck up in the morning, the power steering is hard until it's juices start flowing, usually about a minute or two.

94 4runner with same stinking problem. Big mess!!!! Going to use engine degreaser to find leak. Think it possibly came from leaky acid in old battery I had in it a year back. knew I should have replaced the damn thing sooner,

Need more help with steering pump

I have a 93' 4Runner. Recently, I replaced the power steering pump. I thought it was bad with the noise problem at start up and leaking oil. I checked all the hose connections after put in the new pump. But I still find a leak at the bottom frame. The leak is not significant but I bother me a bit and I am worry that the car can caught on fire if the oil gets to the hot parts.

I appreciate any advices on this matter Sincerely,
