Egr Please help!!!!
I am currently having problems with my i car i was told that it is likely to be the EGR valve . my check engine light comes on when i am accelerating at speeds of 50-60 and when i slow down my check engine light comes on as well. I cant afford a new egr vavle right now beings that there$179 dollars so i was hoping someone would be able to tell me how to clean out an egr ? i have a 1994 cutlass supreme

First what emissions code is on your engine emissions control label. The label is in your engine compartment. The code is in the upper left hand corner of the label. It would start with a "R".This will tell me what engine you have and what emissions system your car is equipped with. Then I may be able to help you check your EGR.
Also, at the 50-60 mph, does your cruise control work properly after the service engine light comes on? |
