Got some questions about factory warranties.

What's the warranty coverage on a 95-98 GTi when it was purchased new? Is it transferrable? How about the 99 and up GTi's? Thx.

That would depend on what the person purchases with the car at the time. It can be different from car to car. However, the main coverage for them is:

Warranty**
Anti-Corrosion
12 year unlimited distance Limited Warranty
Against Corrosion
Maintenance
2 year/24,000 mile (whichever occurs first)
no-charge scheduled manufacturer's maintenance
Powertrain Warranty
10 year/100,000 mile (whichever comes first)
Limited Powertrain Warranty. 10 year/100,000 mile coverage for first retail owner and immediate family members only. Subsequent owners receive 5 year/50,000 (whichever comes first) mile coverage.

Roadside Assistance
2 year/unlimited distance 24-hour roadside assistance
Vehicle Warranty
2 year/24,000 mile (whichever occurs first)
Limited New Vehicle Warranty. Wear and tear items and adjustments excluded after initial 12 months/12,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
For a complete list of standard features, click on Complete specs (above). Specifications, equipment, options and prices are subject to change without notice. Some items may be unavailable when the vehicle is built. Prices exclude taxes, destination charges, optional equipment, registration and dealer charges. Emissions charges may vary by jurisdiction.

*Airbags are supplemental restraints only. Always use safety belts and seat children only in the rear, using restraint systems appropriate for their size and age.

**Please review limitations and exclusions with your dealership representative.
