fuel pump/relay control circuit

Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay control circuit is located? To make a long story longer, the relay caused the ECM to fail (acidic goo) which fried the control circuit. Thanks in advance.

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

Its on the driver side in the engine bay. It is next to the brake fluid resivior. There should be two relays. I think its the left one.

If you have more than 2, its think it's still the left-most one.

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

The capacitors (caps) in the ECU leaked and fried the ECU, not the fuel pump relay

O.K. so the ECM fried itself. It has been replaced. So has the fuel pump relay. I have no fuel pump coming on. I beleive the ECM took out the fuel pump/relay CONTROL CIRCUIT? Can you please tell me what that is or where that is? When the new ECM was first hooked up the car started but won't now. It seems to be an intermitten problem. It's a 1990 1.8 liter. Am I on the right track even?

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

So the fuel pump does not come on at all? You could alwasy try the test circut.

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

The fuel pump only comes on intermittenly or when energized from the battery. Also, I can get a reading from the ECM on a voltmeter but only intermittenly as well.

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

i dont know if you have one or not but lots of newer cars have a auto shutoff that cuts power to the circuit if you're in a accident(g sensor) that could have fried too

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

1G's do not have a pump shut off switch. The test circut is totaly independant than the regular circut, the only part the would have in common is the pump.

Re: fuel pump/relay control circuit

I am just going by this stupid manual. With the symptoms the car is having, it says either the fuel pump relay or it's control circuit is faulty. I know it's not the relay, there's a brand new one in there. So where is this "control circuit"? Or maybe it's something else? Any ideas?
