Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

the common thinking is that the front steering knuckles from the integra will throw off the alignment and the SiR or 91 EX 4dr must be used .. but that the other integra stuff is ok (front rotors/calipers, complete rear trailing arm assemblies w/ brakes)

the civic hatch needs the integra parking brake cables
the crx needs .... yep, you guessed it .. the crx si parking brake cables

you might also consider replacing your ball joints while you're at it

uppers come in a new control arm assembly (which gives you the joy of fresh bushings) .. but the lowers are installed by themselves

Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

Well the reason for all this is becuase I'm dropping a B20-Vetch in this CRX...thats why I'm upgrading all this shit.

Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

that is absolutely fucking fantastic

B20 VTEC should be loads of fun
ive seen them dyno 150+ torque from waaay down low like the neigborhood of 2.5k to all the way to around 7K or so

what are the specs ?

make sure u use a girdle on the bottom end

it helps to have the rotating assembly balanced too

Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

Well as for the bottom end the Crank and Rods are stying stock but they are new! I bought Arias 85mm pistons and bumped up the compression to 11.5:1 for that extra Umph!!! As for the head your basic head job. New valves, retainers nothing crazy, the head is a B16 of a 99 CIVCI SI that I found at a salvage yard...CTR Intake manifold, CTR Intake CAM, ITR Exhaust CAM, TODA Sprokets, and ITR Header, this is going to be daily driven too.

Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

ive been told by more than one experienced builder that a girdle on your bearing caps is a must for a built CRVTEC to last

keep in mind the GSR and ITR have a stock girdle...... here are some fun links...
http://www.diyracing.com/B20girdlemod.html
http://www.robearracing.com/pd_golden_eagle_main.cfm
http://www.theoldone.com/components/block_girdle/

the stroke on that fucker is 89mm .. with 11.5:1 and the CTR/ITR cams you are going to be stressing the bottom end out quite a bit...

And i must say.....dood....... I am soooooooo fucking jealous

your car is gonna be such a little demon

what tranny/mount kit r u using ?

do u have a QUAIFE ? :-)

Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

I'm using a GSR tranny with the phantom Grip LSD Kit after the cost for the bottom end and the head job I didn't have enough for the LSD tranny but I have read nothing but good reviews on the phantom grip kit. As for the mounts they are custom RS Motorwork mounts, I'm I'm not stroking it I just bored it out a little more to fit the 85mm pistons the stock one's are like 84mm.

Re: Rear Disc Brake Swap !!

yah the stock crv/ls stroke is 89mm
gsr/itr 87, b16a 77

so what is the story on the mounts ? are they similar to hasport or designed to be less prone to vibration ?

85 x 89 = 2022cc's

i think that qualifies u for getting the "2.0 Si" badge from the Prelude if u are so inclined
