My '86 Fiero GT (Chevy block & Pontiac tuned 2.8L HO v6) sometimes surges when I first start it.
It will run up to 1500 or 1750rpm, then drop down to 500 or less and sound like it's going to die, then up to 2000-ish, then down and up a few times, getting closer to a normal idle each time. It's a few seconds between cycles, and I don't seem to have any other similar problems once it cycles a few times. I have 130,000 original miles and a bad rear exhaust manifold gasket. What might be wrong? Thanks. |
