All Motor Suggestions?

ITR. Its cheap and just as good as most aftermarket setups for a fraction of the price. Save more money for other mods.

What cams are you using? Make sure you have a good exhaust setup. A header with a 2.5" collector and same with exhaust. (2.5") You want it to be breathing well at 8,000rpm plus. I'd use the ITR IM and TB and with the money saved from that, put the extra coin towards a better header and exhaust setup.

Re: All Motor Suggestions?

Yap. Skunk2 is a very similar design to the ITR, and you're not going to need something as major as Venom or something like that.

ITR is a pretty nice design.

Re: All Motor Suggestions?

Well, someone correct me on this, if I'm wrong. But, first off, the skunk2 was molded after the CTR manifold, and I am sure the CTR and ITR are different. Second, a bigger manifold, and bigger throttle body, gets the best gains at the top of the rpm's, while losing lower end power. So, with a auto trans, you wont really benefit from a more open manifold and TB, but maybe actually lose out on power.

well i do want a manifold that will benefit me in TQ, rather than in HP. i obviously will need all the low end power i can get. so would something else be more beneficial?

Re: All Motor Suggestions?

I'm doubtfull that the CTR and ITR IM are a different peice, I've never heard of such thing.
I read that the Skunk2 manifold was a copy of the ITR, but with slightly larger runners.

About the HP over torque thing, the same could be said for the cams. B16A cams are made for power in higher rev range than the stock ones. If you have cams already and a header, and pistons, and bolt ons, the next step is to get a bigger intake manifold. The 1st gen B16 has the smallest IM of all the B16s (later gens even had a better design).

If you really want torque I would have stopped spending money on the B16 a long time ago and started looking for a GSR block.
