it seems like everyone has the same problems ive had with my lumina.
battery- yes you do have to remove the window wiper fluid tank to remove the battery and yes that does mean you have to remove the cross bar. timing belt and atlernators are good things to check up on and maybe replace for good performance in your lumina change oil religiously every 3000 miles i promsie you your car will run well over 300,000 miles tranny fluid is a good thing to make sure you have in your trunk at all times ive heard a lot of people havign problems with vents and heating/cooling this also fits in with spark plugs ect >>>unfortunately due to crappy design you have to jack the engine completely out of the car if you want to change spark plugs or spark plug wiring. ((Behind the engine is the vaccuum for the vents if the engine has had work done to it make sure it hasnt come off been cracked ect)) i cant help you with where exactly it is located but thats what was wrong with my vents so check it out. :-D <<< |

Re: Help on '93 Lumina
If the vents aren't working, in the middle of the floorboard next to the gas pedal, and the passenger side of the car, there will be a black box. The heater core is located behind here. The blower motor for the heater/vent/ac is located in there. If the nuts have loosened any, and created a leak, the motor will blow air, but it won't come out of the vents since there's not any vacuum in this area. Check on that first.
Is the blower motor coming on and nothign coming out of the vents, or is it not turning on at all? If you put the AC on MAX, the vacuum hose behind the engine wouldn't have anything to do with it since MAX recirculates what's in the car, as AC brings in fresh air. |
