Installing blow off valve, HELP!

Ok... new to the turbo scene, but I'm interested in installing a blow off valve on my girlfriends '98 GST... the car is bone stock with no other mods, but more will soon be coming... can anyone recommend a BOV to use? Also, what is the level of difficulty on the install? Im pretty auto savvy, and can work on my 4x4 all day long, so I'm not expecting this to be a huge project... Also, any tips or info on the install would be much appreciated, as I'm not really sure what I'm doing... Thanks for any help in advance!

*edit* ok... been reading a little more... most places are saying to just switch to the 1g BOV... is this correct... the only reason she wants a damn BOV is for the friggin sound it makes... what to do? Cost is not a huge issue, as long as I can keep it under a few hundred bucks...

the BOV i got is realy loud if she whants the sound. its a greddy type-s bov and its really loud you can hear me from a long distance away. but for the soud you need to vent it out not recirculation it to the intake

Just keep in mind that venting the BOV will piss off the ECU on a regular basis. As long as she is willing to deal with the car, its fine otherwise. For a performance BOV, I certainly recomend the 1G BOV as well. You should upgrade the upper intercooler pipe (UICP) in either case, which requires switching to an aftermarket open element filter like the K&N. People run the K&N all the way down to the 10s too. Check out www.dejontool.com for some affordable UICPs. The K&N with adapter should be no more than 75-90 bucks, and the UICP should be no more than 100ish. Good luck, I dont think you'll have any trouble with the install with your experience.

at stock cfm you might not notice as much as say if you were flowing 3 times as much.. 3 times richer whenever you vent...

I ran my car with a vented BOV for years. But that doesn mean it ran right Its always a compromise. For maximum performance, dump it back in, or vent the right way using the MAFT.
