My gas gage and temp gage read nothing all of a sudden, at first it was intermittent and then just nothing....it would come and go when i hit a bump or randomly work. That leads me to believe it's a loose wire some where, but what one is gas and temp gage at the same time. If anyone knows where i can get help with out paying an arm and a leg that would be great.

Re: 91 pathfinder gas gage and temp gage
I have a 1988 Nissan Pathfinder and the same thing happened. I believe it's your voltage regulator which is found behind your cluster.
Here's some info I found on the net. Fuel and temperature gauges stopped working Date: Thu, 6 Apr 2000 17:10:18 -0400 From: "cjeschmidt" <[email protected]> Subject: RE: Nissan4x4: fuel and temp gauges I had the exact same problem about 2 months ago. It is without a doubt the voltage regulator, which is located on the back of the cluster. It is a small black box about 1" X 1", and has 3 leads coming off it. I bought one from Autogator, for I think somewhere between $20 and $30. Very easy to replace too. I'm thinking of replacing my cluster to correct the issue since it will be hard to find this part. Hope this helps! |

Re: 91 pathfinder gas gage and temp gage
The above reply is 100% accurate. It is your voltage regulator, located behind your dash. It's located in the upper right hand corner looking at the back of your cluster. Mine was 1"X1" silver in color with three wires coming off it. Went to the dealer and for 30 bucks got a new one and works great now.

unfortuneatly it wasn't the voltage regulator. And to top matters off it's a non returnable 45 dollar part. I'm done with messing with it over and over again, i'm just gonna have it t-shot
